Setup guides

Pick a platform. Which ones you can use depends on your plan.

Telegram

The quickest network to connect. A bot posts to your channel on your behalf.

You need

  • A Telegram channel you own
  • A bot token
  • The channel's @username, or its ID for a private channel

Get it here

  • Open Telegram and talk to @BotFather
  • Send /newbot, pick a name, copy the token it gives you

Steps

  1. Create the bot with BotFather
  2. Add the bot to your channel as an administrator with the right to post messages
  3. In Dexrux open Networks, add Telegram, tick the languages and paste the token and channel

Keep in mind

  • Use one channel per language
  • Treat the token like a password. If it leaks, revoke it in BotFather and paste the new one into Dexrux
  • A bot that is not an administrator cannot post

X

Posts go out from your X account through an app you create in the X developer portal.

You need

  • An X account
  • A developer account with an app
  • The app's client ID and client secret

Get it here

Steps

  1. Create the app
  2. In its authentication settings choose read and write permissions
  3. Copy the client ID and secret into Dexrux under Networks, then press Connect and approve access

Keep in mind

  • How many posts you can send depends on your X API plan, so check it before you start
  • Standard accounts are limited to 280 characters
  • If you change the app's permissions later, connect again

Facebook

Dexrux publishes to a Facebook Page, not to a personal profile.

You need

  • A Facebook Page where you are an admin
  • A Meta developer app
  • A Page access token and the Page ID

Get it here

Steps

  1. Create a Meta app and add your Page to it
  2. Grant the permissions for managing Page posts
  3. Generate a long-lived Page access token
  4. Paste the token and Page ID into Dexrux under Networks

Keep in mind

  • Short-lived tokens stop working within hours, so use a long-lived one
  • Keep the app in Live mode
  • If you lose admin rights on the Page, posting stops

Instagram

Instagram only lets professional accounts publish through its API, and every post needs an image or video.

You need

  • An Instagram Business or Creator account
  • A Facebook Page linked to that account
  • A Meta developer app with an access token
  • Your Instagram account ID

Get it here

  • Switch to a professional account in the Instagram app settings
  • Link it to your Page, then create the app at developers.facebook.com

Steps

  1. Make the account professional and link it to your Facebook Page
  2. In the Meta app, grant the permissions for publishing Instagram content
  3. Paste the token and account ID into Dexrux under Networks
  4. Switch AI images on, or attach your own image to each post

Keep in mind

  • Personal accounts cannot be connected
  • Text-only posts are not possible on Instagram
  • Instagram limits how many posts an account can publish per day through the API

LinkedIn

For posting to a company page. LinkedIn reviews access before it lets an app post for a company.

You need

  • A LinkedIn company page where you are an admin
  • A LinkedIn developer app tied to that page
  • The app's client ID and client secret

Get it here

Steps

  1. Create the app and link it to your company page
  2. Request the product that allows posting for a company page
  3. Once approved, paste the client ID and secret into Dexrux, press Connect and approve access

Keep in mind

  • Approval by LinkedIn can take several days, so start early
  • LinkedIn access expires after a couple of months. Connect again when Dexrux asks
  • Posting to a personal profile uses a different, simpler permission

Reddit

Posts are submitted to the subreddits you choose, from your own Reddit account.

You need

  • A Reddit account in good standing
  • A Reddit app with its client ID and secret
  • The names of the subreddits you will post to

Get it here

Steps

  1. Create the app while signed in to the account that will post
  2. Paste the client ID, secret and account details into Dexrux under Networks
  3. Add the subreddits and send a test post

Keep in mind

  • Read each subreddit's rules first. Many restrict promotion and links
  • New accounts with little karma are often filtered or rate-limited
  • Titles can be at most 300 characters

WordPress

Dexrux publishes articles and posts straight to your site through WordPress's built-in API.

You need

  • Your site's address, served over HTTPS
  • A WordPress user with the Author or Editor role
  • An application password for that user

Get it here

  • In WordPress admin go to Users, open the user's profile and scroll to Application Passwords
  • Type a name such as Dexrux and press Add

Steps

  1. Create a dedicated user for Dexrux
  2. Generate the application password and copy it straight away. It is shown only once
  3. Paste the site address, username and application password into Dexrux under Networks

Keep in mind

  • Security plugins sometimes block the REST API. Allow it for this user
  • Application passwords need HTTPS
  • Do not use your main admin account

Your own website

For sites that are not on WordPress. Dexrux sends every approved post to an address on your site.

You need

  • An address on your site that accepts new posts
  • An API key that protects it

Get it here

  • Your developer creates both. It is usually a small job

Steps

  1. Ask your developer for the address and the key
  2. Paste them into Dexrux under Networks
  3. Send a test post and check that it appears on your site

Keep in mind

  • The address must use HTTPS
  • Change the key if someone who had it leaves your team

WhatsApp Business

Uses the WhatsApp Business Platform from Meta. It takes the most preparation of all nine.

You need

  • A Meta Business account
  • A phone number registered on the WhatsApp Business Platform
  • The phone number ID and a permanent access token

Get it here

Steps

  1. Add WhatsApp to your Meta app and register the phone number
  2. Create a permanent token with a system user in Meta Business settings
  3. Paste the phone number ID and token into Dexrux under Networks

Keep in mind

  • People must have agreed to receive your messages
  • Messages you start yourself must use a template that Meta has approved
  • Meta may ask you to verify your business before raising sending limits
